The Dallas Police Department's Volunteers in Patrol (V.I.P.) Program is an effort to bring together interested members of the neighborhood watch programs of Dallas, Texas and the Dallas Police Department to patrol the streets in their respective neighborhoods.  Each V.I.P. Program participant will receive basic training in order to recognize suspicious activity and report such activity to the police department in a clear and timely manner.  V.I.P. members are non-confrontational and only act as witnesses who report incidents and problems to the police department.
